  1. Auckland’s Stardome observatory reopens 19 June after some fixes and renovations. They have Matariki shows for 6 weeks then new permanent kōkōrangi Māori (Māori astronomy) evenings.

Professional Learning & Development (PLD) Opportunities

  1. The 12th Science is Cool conference brings you a day of free, virtual physics-focused PLD. Th 3 Aug, 8am PT (Fri 4 Aug 2:45 am!). Register to access the recordings.
  2. The Maurice Wilkins Centre (with BEANZ & the Moko Foundation) will offer more free biology PD days this year! Five speakers at each of 6 locations across Aotearoa in July & Nov. MWC Biology PD 2023
  3. Unfortunately, due to PPTA’s strike action, ESS is canceling their upcoming PLD Thurs 22 June.
  4. BEANZ mātauranga Māori workshop is going ahead Mon 12 June (culturally-responsive pedagogy rather than NCEA changes). Attendees please confirm attendance with me.
